For this assignment I used the Obscura app. While the app allowed for a lot of control editing contrast, exposure, and white balance, I found the app to be fairly archaic and limiting. You weren't able to zoom and if your shutter speed was a little too long the app would temporarily lock up your phone. A handful of my photos also came out with red and blue undertones even when my settings were straight black and white or noir, so I don't know what I did. I tried it in various environments and all provided the same results. I gave it a good try, but I think I'll use another app for the next assignment.

  1. I like your first picture the best. I like how you captured the sun trying to come through the clouds. I also enjoyed how you can see off in the distance how the light from the sun is reflecting off of the water.

  2. Photo tennis definitely my favorite. There is something amazing about a dark black in a photo. I think it's great that just a little bit of light added just enough for light to hit his face.

  3. I like your first picture the best, I like looking at the clouds and seeing the bright rim from the sun coming through it, I feel like it could have more contrast though, to accentuate that even more. It is also eerie that this dock seems to have so many docking stations, but they are all empty. It makes me think of the end of the summer and begining of the fall, where there is still a strong sun but the water are vacant.

  4. The first photo is my favorite. The sun coming from behind the clouds adds a lot to this photo, which adds a touch of bliss, but also the broken dock adds a touch of creepiness, so the two together makes for an interesting photo.

  5. My favorite photo of yours is definitely number 7. I love the texture in the photograph and I think the black and white really brings that out!
