Hi! I shot all these with my iPhone 6 throughout Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. I used the app "Faded" to edit the pictures. I like the app because there's many options for B&W and you can specifically adjust certain aspects of the photo such as the brightness and contrast. I used a combination of the B&W filter with brightness/contrast alteration to achieve my desired effect. I also chose to do self portraits that weren't so obvious, such as the photo of my suitcase & feet and the photo of my friend & I on that empty stage.
I like the 5th picture down from the top the best. I like how you took the picture from a higher level in the building looking out over the city. It reminds me of when my dad used to take my sisters and I to work with him when we were younger. I would look out the window from his office. I like how the sun is creating a shadow on the buildings to the right of the picture. I also like how you can just barely see William Penn in the top of the picture.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite picture is the second one. I like how you don't get close enough to see the 2 people face but can see their pose. I also like the light that shines from behind the American Flag and how it lightens the whole photo.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is the first one. The contrast of the black and white makes the details of the restaurant more detailed and clear. There is so much to see in this picture which makes me want to look at it more! Sometimes there is more detail to be seen in black and white than in color and that makes the photo more interesting. The light coming through the windows and the light bulbs makes a nice contrast that draws the attention to the details of the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of good ones here... I like how sharp your first pictures are, specially... #6 really got my attention foe several seconds, theres a crisp to it that I really enjoy. The second one is my favorite, the one spot of light and the angle you decided to shoot it from cast so many shadows, I really enjoy it. The picture is no enigmatic because of the flag, being so bright, and the structure around it having so much contrast. The fact that we can't see peoples faces makes of this a very enigmatic photo.
ReplyDeletePicture number 5 is my favorite. I like the shadows casted onto the buildings. I also enjoy the statue of William Penn peaking over the top of the building.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of great photos but I think number two is my favorite. I feel like you managed to create a lot of emotion. You just have a perfect balance of mystery and intrigue. The lighting and area you shot the photo from really sell it. I think if it were more zoomed in for lit differently it wouldn't work the same.
